Introduction

Open wire heating elements are the best solution for air heating when used in fans. Because of our longlasting experience in this field, we can offer you a series construction in most cases. To use our open wire heating elements in air, the installation of a cut-out is necessary (heat accumulation). The connection is done by a plug at the element (Faston 4,8 or 6,3) or by a cord set.

Heating elements with air guide channel made of galvanised material for laundry dryers with ceramic spiral carrier stones, 2 steps at 230 V up to maximal 3000 W, available with different temperature limiting systems.

9.2 Heaters for Cross Flow Fans

model 1: these standard elements contain an open heating spiral supported by a ceramic unit (3 spirals). According to the safety standards, the spiral can be filled with a fibre glass cord. This cord hinders the heating spiral from being deformed at high impact or (in case of a break down) to get in contact with other metal parts.

model 2: these heating elements with a higher ceramic unit (4 spirals) are made for use in higher airducts (less swirled). For safety reasons, a fibre glass cord can be filled in in this case, too.

These inoovative heaters were specially designed for the use with powerful blower units. Typical applications are professional hand and hair dryers.

The convincing advantages:

1. Extreme robustness by tight connection between

heater band and mica support.

2. High power at small dimensions provided by

up to seven heating levels per unit.

3. High efficiency by small grade of turbulences in

airstream and low watt density at the heater.

4. Low risk of dirt swirl pollution.

5. Easy mounting directly to the blower or into the air duct.

6. Including over-temperature protection with installed

thermal cut-out and/or thermal fuse.

Micanite Heating Crosses are designed for cylindric or conic air ducts and mostly used in combination with axial blowers. The spirals are often supported by internal fibre glass cords. Typical applications are hair dryers, whirlpool fans or hot air blowers.

Various special designs for airflow heating, deploying heater spirals on insulating mica support, are available. They are required when the available space for installation is limited and defined geometrical air ducts do not exist. All special open wire heaters are individual designs, i.e. custom-made.

The installation of a cut-out is standard. The elements can be delivered completely wired as specified. Send us your inquiries! Our engineers like to discuss with you possible options of your new construction and will design a heating element perfectly fitting to your application.
